Please join us to kick-off the IFAC AAC Symposium with an American style BBQ, featuring hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers + all sorts of American style sides (+beer and wine).

Logistics:
The dinner will take place at the symposium hotel so if you are not staying at The Blackwell, you will be responsible for your own logistics. Thank you!

Dress code:
Casual – please come as you are! This event will be held indoors, with air-conditioning.

Reception will take place in three of our spaces: our High Bay (beverages), the Heavy-Duty Chassis Dyno (hors d’oeuvres and band), and our Motorsport Team Garage (desserts and coffee/tea) to encourage mingling.

Entertainment will be provided by local band, The Neal Show!
"The Neal Show! is a six-piece band featuring the brilliant songwriting of Neal Havener. Neal has been performing original music since the 80s -- his songs range from folksy, jazzy and sentimental to quirky, silly and contemplative.

The band features Neal on guitar/harmonica/vocals; Jack Burgess on bass/vocals; Pete Vogel on keys; Dave Schuiteman on percussion/vocals; Aaron Minnick on horns; and Rebecca Sutton on woodwinds/vocals.

They've been performing in town since 2018."

Logistics:
Two busses will begin continuous loops between The Blackwell main entrance and CAR, beginning at 17:00 p.m. with last trip taking place at 20:15 p.m. For those driving themselves, free parking in the CAR parking lots will be available and more information parking will be forthcoming in communications.

Dress code:
business, with high likelihood of warm and humid weather, so comfort is key! Note while our classroom is air-conditioned (room for the student/industry networking event), our social spaces are not air-conditioned.

The Ohio Stadium – Northwest Loge Club Event Space

Nicknamed “The Shoe”, due to its horseshoe shape, The Ohio Stadium marks 100 years of fellowship for our Buckeye Nation, as well as being the home field of our beloved Ohio State Buckeyes Men’s (American) Football team!

We’ll have Red Coat Usher Tours of the press box at the stadium, as well as chance to go onto the field for pictures and possibly a safe cartwheel or two?

Complete with appetizers, wine/beer hosted bar, a plated dual entrée dinner* and dessert, we’ll be serenaded by another local band, possibly featuring our conference chair, Giorgio Rizzoni on guitar!

Entrées Served:
Grilled petite filet with red wine sauce and Fine Herb Roasted Airline Chicken with garlic pan sauce; served with Boursin whipped Yukon potatoes and chef’s choice seasonal vegetables, mixed green salad with dressings on the side, and assortment of desserts.

Vegetarian Entrées:
Cauliflower Pancakes with eggplant and summer vegetable ratatouille and goat cheese dressing.

Logistics:
Given the proximity of Ohio Stadium to The Blackwell, we will only have wheeled transportation upon request. It is a 0.1 mi walk from the front door of The Blackwell to Gate 7 of Ohio Stadium, where we will enter.

Dress code:
Business, i.e. suggested tie and jacket or dress pants / pantsuit / dress of your comfort. This event will be a mix of out-of-doors and air-conditioned spaces.
